By registering and using the Farufoshi — Muraka Muraasil Citizen Scientists platform, you agree to the following terms and conditions. Please read them carefully before creating an account.

• The platform is open to participants aged 8–17 years and accompanying adults.
• Participants under 18 must have consent from a parent or guardian to register and use the platform.
• You must provide accurate and truthful information during registration.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and confidential.
• Each person may only hold one account. Duplicate accounts may be removed by administrators.

By using this platform you agree to:

• Submit only accurate, genuine coral reef observations using the survey cards provided.
• Use the community forum respectfully — no hate speech, harassment, or offensive content.
• Not upload any content that is irrelevant, harmful, misleading, or unrelated to coral reef conservation.
• Not attempt to access, modify, or disrupt any part of the platform or other users' data.
• Not submit fabricated or intentionally inaccurate survey data.

When you submit a coral reef observation through FarufoshiMap, you grant Faru Foshi a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to use, display, and publish that survey data for conservation research, grant reporting, and public education purposes.

Approved observations are displayed publicly on the reef map. Your personal contact details will never be publicly displayed — only your survey data and, where relevant, your name as the contributor.

• All coral reef observations submitted through FarufoshiMap are subject to review and approval by a platform moderator before being displayed publicly.
• Forum posts may be removed by administrators if they violate these terms or community guidelines.
• Faru Foshi reserves the right to reject or remove any submitted content at its discretion.
• Moderators may edit observation records only for data quality and accuracy purposes.

The Farufoshi programme involves outdoor and water-based activities. By participating you acknowledge that:

• You are responsible for your own safety and that of minors in your care during field activities.
• Faru Foshi and the platform operators are not liable for any injury, loss, or damage arising from participation in field surveys.
• All participants should follow the safety guidelines provided in the Faru Foshi physical toolkit and user guide.
• Children must always be accompanied by a responsible adult during any field or water-based activity.

Your personal data is handled in accordance with our Privacy Policy . By registering, you consent to the collection and use of your data as described in that policy. We are committed to protecting your privacy, especially for child participants.

Faru Foshi reserves the right to suspend or permanently remove any account that:

• Violates these terms and conditions
• Submits fraudulent or harmful content
• Engages in disruptive or abusive behaviour toward other users or moderators

You may request deletion of your account at any time by contacting farufoshi.mv@gmail.com.

Faru Foshi may update these terms from time to time to reflect changes in the platform or project scope. Continued use of the platform after any changes constitutes acceptance of the updated terms. We will notify registered users of significant changes where possible.

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Maldives. Any disputes arising from use of this platform shall be subject to the jurisdiction of the Maldivian courts.
